March 1977 — Ed McVaney, Jack Thompson, and Dan Gregory open "J.D. Edwards and Company" — a small software developer based at No. 2 DTC Parkway in Denver, Colorado.

July 1978 — Bob Newman brings his technical expertise to J.D. Edwards.

The First Big Shift
December 1980 — Development begins for the IBM System/38.

The Lone-Star Office
Spring 1981 — The first J.D. Edwards branch office opens in Dallas, Texas.

Home Again
December 1982 — During the infamous "blizzard of 1982," J.D. Edwards relocates its headquarters to 4949 S. Syracuse Street in Denver.

Symposium on the Queen Mary
October 1985 — J.D. Edwards previews "World Systems" software for the IBM System/38 on board the Queen Mary in Long Beach Harbor.

The Second Big Shift
June 1988 — J.D. Edwards’ AS/400 success begins with the release of version A2.2 of WorldSoftwareTM.

Headquarters Adds New Offices
March 1990 — J.D. Edwards expands to the Stanford Place I building on Tufts Avenue in Denver.

J.D. Edwards Goes Global
June 1990 — J.D. Edwards opens its first international office in Brussels, Belgium.

$100 Million Celebration
January 1991 — J.D. Edwards celebrates topping the $100 million mark for total revenues.

Top 50
June 1991 — On the strength of an 86% increase in sales over 1989, Software Magazine ranks J.D. Edwards among the top 50 independent software companies in the world.

European Offices
J D Edwards goes European and opens offices in Italy, France and the UK.

Home Again, Again
August 1992 — Headquarters relocates to a new building on Union Avenue in the Denver Tech Center.

A Presence in Singapore
Fall of 1992 — J.D. Edwards opens its first Asia Pacific office in Singapore.

Internet Popularity on the Rise
January 1995 — The Internet connects more than 50,000 networks and over 5 million computers worldwide by the beginning of 1995.

OneWorldฎ Announced
November 1995 — J.D. Edwards officially announces OneWorld at its Corporate Kickoff meeting.

OneWorld Goes Live
June 1996 — Ushio America becomes the first customer to go live with OneWorld.

Configurable Network Computing™ Arrives
June 1996 — J.D. Edwards introduces OneWorld in the Wall Street Journal as "Configurable Network Computing" — a step beyond client/server.

Ground Breaking Event
August 1996 — J.D. Edwards breaks ground for the first building on its new corporate campus.

J.D. Edwards IPO
September 1997 — J.D. Edwards announced an initial public offering for its common stock. J.D. Edwards successfully transitioned to public company status with a strong reception on the NASDAQ exchange.

Euro
January 1999 — The euro is introduced as an accounting unit for EMU member nations. As of 28 February 2002: The euro is the only currency for EMU member nations.

The power of Best-of-Breed
1999 — J.D. Edwards purchases Numetrix and Premisys (best of breed software vendors providing advanced planning and advanced order configurator capabilities, respectively) to create an unbeatable supply chain solution.

OneWorld Xe
October 2000 — J.D. Edwards unveiled OneWorld Xe.

J.D. Edwards Acquisition of YOUcentric, Inc.
November 2001 — J.D. Edwards releases first integrated version of collaborative CRM solution. Completion of acquisition and first phase of integration extends J.D. Edwards’ collaborative product set into high-growth customer relationship management marketplace.

J.D. Edwards 5
May 2002 — J.D. Edwards introduces J.D. Edwards 5, a comprehensive family of modular, Web-enabled collaborative enterprise software products and services to make customers stronger.

Sold to PeopleSoft for $1.7 Billion
